Like what? Well, how about a private screening of “The Princess & The Frog.” Which featured an appearance by artists & animators from Premise Entertainment (i.e. an Orlando-based animation studio that assisted Walt Disney Animation Studios with its return to hand-drawn animation).

This was followed by a holiday bus tour of The Walt Disney World Resort. Where conventioneers got to see the Christmas decorations at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
At their stop at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Extravaganza attendees got to sample some roasted chestnuts & mulled cider …
… before heading into the hotel lobby to meet with master pastry chef Chef Erich Herbitschek …
… who then walked the group through how he & his team combined 800 pounds of flour, 600 pounds of sugar and 1,050 pounds of honey to create a 16-foot tall gingerbread house.
Then – on Saturday, December 13th – festivities shifted over to Downtown Disney’s Hotel Plaza area. Where collectors from all over Central Florida area came together at the Regal Sun to do some holiday shopping at the World Chapter’s All Disneyana Show and Sale.
Later that same day, conventioneers gathered in the hotel’s ballroom for a fund-raising dinner for Give Kids the World …
… where they then had the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind drawings created by noted Disney artists like Alex Maher and Lon Smart.
All in all, NFFC – Disneyana Fan Club members spent a fun & festive time at The Walt Disney World Resort and came away from the Holiday Extravaganza with some fond memories of this four day-long event.
If you missed out of this Christmas-themed event … Not to worry: The NFFC – Disneyana Fan Club is ringing in the new year by inaugurating its Heritage Award. Which will be presenting to Leonard Maltin in recognition of his decades of work “ … promoting awareness of, as well as the preservation of, Disney history.”

This award will be presented on Saturday, January 16th at a luncheon which will be held at the Crown Plaza Resort Anaheim – Garden Grove Hotel. The following day, this same Disneyland area resort will be the setting for the NFFC – Disneyana Fan Club All Disneyana Show and Sale.

Getting back to those seven-shopping-days-left-‘til-Christmas … If you plan on doing any holiday shopping on Amazon.com this year, could you please do JHM a favor and – before you begin any online bargain hunting – click on the banner above?
If you do that … Well, Jim Hill Media then gets a teeny tiny chunk of whatever you spend. Which would be a very generous way to show your appreciation for all the great stories that you’ve read on this site over the past year.
Happy Holidays!
