DoomBuggy Productions presents: Custom Haunted Mansion Mini-Gravestones

Hey, gang!

It's Patrick Hurd from DoomBuggy Productions.

So, did you catch that Ebay auction for the custom gravestone to be placed in the Haunted Mansion? I know I did. $37,400.00 after the auction started, Cary Sharp, 37, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was named the honorary 1000th ghost to take up residence in the Mansion.

Personally, I would have preferred someone else winning that auction. Considering Mr. Sharp had only visited Disneyland once prior to the ceremony dedicating his grave stone. But -- hey -- nobody's perfect. And the Boys and Girls Club received the full $37,400.00. So winners all around!

At any rate, not many of us have that kind of money. But there are quite a few of us that would love to see our name on a Haunted Mansion gravestone. So...

By combining actual images of some of the Mansion's gravestones with painted foam core, you get some very convincing miniatures. The stones themselves are mounted on sheet moss covered foam core. To add a bit more detail, you can add ivy & even rocks to the groundcover.

Okay...so where does the "custom" come in? Six of the nine gravestones I've made available for download have no epitaph whatsoever. So you can either add in the names and dates of your choosing in Photoshop or a similar image editing program before you print the gravestones. Or you can simply write them in after the fact. Whatever you may decide, you get to see your name on a Mansion gravestone and it wont cost you 37 grand. Heck, you don't even have to die!

As always, a complete set of instructions (including all the downloads needed plus step-by-step photos) for this "At Home Imagineering" project are available over at the DoomBuggy Productions website. Just follow this link.

And -- while you're at the DoomBuggy Productions' site -- be sure to poke around our homepage, where you'll find On the main page you'll also find links to our newly added Lock, Shock, and Barrel kids Halloween Costumes. As well as a how-to on decorating a Madame Leota cake.

I know that all of this Halloween themed stuff may seem somewhat out of step with the season, particularly with Thanksgiving right around the corner. But hang in there, folks. This is just the start of the seasonal offerings that we'll be ... Well, offering over at DoomBuggy Productions. And we'll be presenting a number of those "At Home Imagineering" holiday projects right here at JimHillMedia.com over the next few weeks. So stay tuned, okay?

By the way Faith, the kids and I will be paying a visit to Southern California next week. We'll be at Disneyland on November 26th as well as the 27th. So keep an eye out for the group wearing the "DoomBuggy Productions" / "At Home Imagineering" shirts.

Of course, if you don't want to play "hide and go seek" with us, you can just shoot me an email by using the link on the DoomBuggy Productions' menu bar and we can set up a time and place to meet. Sound good?

Until next time ... Happy crafting!

Patrick Hurd
