Why are the pardoned turkeys going to WDW this year instead of DLR?

Thanks for the great coverage!  Takes me back to my last Turkey-Day visit in 2003.  I think you are right on with the food advice, and there are tons more ways to do a new but familiar experience: Wilderness Lodge, Swan Dolphin Banquet, Garden Grill, Le Cellier, Turkey Mole at San Angel Inn etc.

BUT, I beg to differ with the concept that parks are accessible on Thanksgiving.  It may have changed in a few years.  But in 2003, EPCOT was out of FPs by 1PM.  even those wide sidewalks were jammed all the way until after Illuminations.  Magic Kingdom and Disney (MGM) Studios both closed their gates for part of the day, and I heard that the waits at DAK (although there is more capacity now) were very long.  My best advice for the day is to hit whichever water park is open that day.  Oh and Pleasure Island was fun but jammed on Thanksgiving Night as well.

Even with the crowds, EPCOT WAS great for strolling and drinking around the world.  Don't miss the seasonal specialty of Beaujolais Nouveau in France and Gluwein in Germany.

I would like to give props to the employee at blue bayou  who did not wane and take your $100 waving  and let you pass people over  and go first..  Yes Disneyland can be crowded so can wdw.  but it doesnt give you the right to go over other people  ...   People plan trips  and make reservations in advance...  (something you should know because of your site)  By having a  an cast member take that 100 you could of cost them there job... way to be selfish  and in the season of giving

No offense, but has this guy ever been to WDW on Thanksgiving or any other holiday for that matter?

If you plan on dining at ANY table service restaurant, you will need to make reservations 180 days in advance. Especially if you plan on dining at Liberty Tree Tavern, which has become a bit of a Thanksgiving tradition for many.

If you are a party of 2 then you might have a chance at a table at Nine Dragons or Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot within Thanksgiving week.  If you have more than that then pretty much your only options are going to be restaraunts that are NOT on the dining plan, such as Todd English's Bluezoo.

Fastpasses for the most popular rides usually run out by 1:00 or so.

I'm sure stuff like he wrote is a great speil when he's e-mailing back Canadian vacationers looking for ticket information, but I'm a club concierge at Animal Kingdom lodge and an annual passholder and I know better.
