Yet another excellent article by Mr. Norman. Sir, it is such a thrill to read about your experiences at the Mouse Factory when my hero, Uncle Walt, was still there. How I envy you. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories with us. You are a splendid writer. I'll have to look up that book you wrote about animation. No doubt it's a great read. Thanks again from a devoted fan.

Just great Floyd...once again I love reading about things that happened on the lot. As I've mentioned, I have an office in the "Old" Animation Building and I just went out and walked by the screening rooms on the 3rd floor, knowing even more of its great history. Thanks, Bob

I had the good fortune to visit the Disney Studio for the first time back in 1981. At that time, it still had that wonderful backlot with the residential street, the western street, and my favourite, the Zorro set. I saw it again on a subsequent visit a couple years later too, but the next time I was there was post-1984, and much of it was gone thanks to Michael Eisner. I can well appreciate your fond memories for the Disney Studio of that earlier era, Floyd. What a magical history there was. You certainly were lucky to have been there to see the latter Walt years firsthand.

On another note, I sure do love the way you've designed Walt's caricature in your gag cartoons - what a brilliant abstraction while capturing his essence so perfectly!

Thanks, Pete! I consider that a real compliment because I love your work.

Walt Disney seemed to like my gags. He even autographed one. Disney animator, John Ewing has a signed drawing I did of Walt. John's son, Sam followed in dad's footsteps and also became an animator at Disney's Orlando studio.
