I guess Pixar's tendency to underwhelm with their teasers started from the very beginning eh? ;) We know better than to judge an upcoming Pixar flick based on the teaser by now, though.
Yes, I'm curious about who made that original Pixar presentation?
John Lasseter always seems to have an infectious enthusiasm about every project he's remotely involved in.
And, didn't these comic book aficiandos know "Red's Dream," "Tin Toy," Luxo Jr," and some of Pixar's other brilliant, award-winning shorts?
But, then again, I remember seeing a couple of funny man-on-the-street film bits asking people years ago if they knew what "Pixar" was or "Who is John Lasseter?"
If nothing else, it showed me that my knowledge of Disney and Pixar is just as geeky as those who know every the name of every artist who has drawn Batman or Spider-Man.
By the way, Floyd, are you still in touch with Chris Sanders? What's the latest?
Floyd, you have an amazing talent to make every one of your stories interesting and insightful... you have great articles.
I heard Chris Sanders is making a movie at Dreamworks. Dunno what kind of movie (other than knowing its the Chris Sanders kind)
I want to go to Comic Con once I graduate this year.
I read somewhere that Chris Sanders is taking over Crood Awakening, a story about cavemen, at Dreamworks. The movie was originally written by John Cleese and Kirk DeMicco and was slated to be produced by Aardman Animations, but most likely will be re-written by Sanders.
I've been collecting comics since I was 9 years old. Twenty years! It's a great hobby that I have passed on to my kids. Even though I have two girls, they love comic books too. I have always wanted to go to the San Diego con, but have never made it. Thanks for the great story, I never expected to find something like this anywhere but a comic fanboy site!
I have never been "in" to collecting comics but my Mom was. She had a collection of all the Mickey Mouse comics starting with number 1! I just about feinted when she told me that she sold them at a garage sale for 10 cents a piece!
