“And what’s so rare about that?,” you ask. Well, Hal Roach
didn’t actually team Stan up with Babe Hardy ‘til 1927. So this is a studio
publicity shot that actually predates Mr. Laurel’s work with Mr. Hardy. Which makes
this photograph rarer-than-rare.
You’ll find items with ties to some of Hollywood’s greatest
comedians in Julien’s 2009 Summer Sale. Stuff like the Marx Brothers’ wardrobe
tests for their 1939 picture, “At the Circus

As for me … If I had my druthers (more importantly, the extra
dough), I’d be bidding on those storyboards that David Negron drew for “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in the early 1980s. Which helped Steven Spielberg decide how to best stage the opening sequence of that Paramount Pictures' release.
