Blah, if those photos were taken years before HSM, people should still know that minors are going to do dirty stuff, regardless if they know its illegal.

For now, Hudgens really needs to shut up about being a role model. There's no such thing as one anyway.

well, this is old news.   Disney ahd already said they were standing behind her.  Several parents of fans were evn interviewed and said that the media was overhyping something that is unimportant.  Besides the nude picture fiasco has been overhyped more on Jimllmedia than reall news outlets.

People need to understand that whatever actors do in their own free time is they business and no one else's. The only bad thing here is that the photo got leaked somehow. But other than that... If she was making XXX movies during Disney time, that would be a problem. The girl has the right to live her life the way she sees fit.

I hate to always say this when Jim posts a High School Musical article, but I so don't care!

I realize that as the Disney fan that I am, I should be interested. It's a huge money maker for the company and all, but I just don't care. I don't think Disney and automatically think High School Musical and I actually hate the fact that it's such a big hit and associated with Disney.

I know he has to do stories on it, and I continue to read them. I just imagine that he's reporting in som other company and their cheesy teen movie.

Why is high school musical popular... still?! It's retarded.

... RETARDED!!!

Also, Vanessa Hudgens did something that many girls her age do and have been doing since puberty was invented. So they leaked... who cares? High School Musical is really retarded... I have nothing against the actors and actresses really.. well except for Zack Efron. They all seem to be talented young kids, but you can sprinkle glitter on poo and call it Ambrosia, but it will always be poo... covered in glitter.

They should make better tv movies that spark fantasy, mystery, imagination, etc. Not ... pop-music based musicals that reflect high school as some breeding grounds for overly misrepresented teens are act like they're twenty-somethings. I mean the movie is basically a stupid cheerleader-melodic version of Dawson's Creek minus the sex and drama.

Granted, the show's portrayal of the kids and high school is all for good fun and entertainment... but High School Musical .... Michael Eisner farted out better crap than this and he sucked.

... oh yeah, back to the whole nude picture scandal...

Disney shouldn't worry too much about reputations. I mean... Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff are infamous for their personal lifes, and Disney has moved on quite nicely.

It's certainly low on the scandal totem- except for the ongoing status of HSM and its demographic. I tell you, she's probably not going to have much negotiating power when it comes to a HSM3 pay raise in light of this. But it's nothing terribly new. I caught a bit of E's MMC docu and it went into the original cast not just the Brit set. Doreen posed nude for some magazine with Mouse Ears. I can't imagine that went over well- ex-employee or not.

If the alleged cell phone video appears, I bet Vanessa gets the boot from the Mouse--and rightly so. She's representing a brand, and she has to be held to high standards. I haven't heard any similar stories coming out about other young, female Disney stars like Raven or Ashley Tisdale. They may be doing the same things, but if so they've at least got the good sense to keep it a secret.

As for the claim that "everybody's doing it"... Well, that's surely what kids watching people like Hudgens might come to think. But as someone who works with youth a lot, I can tell you that it's a lie; not everyone is out there doing stuff like this.

I love that underaged nudity is treated with a blase attitude around here. As if it really shouldn't be a big deal. And of all places, at a website about Disney, a company that celebrates childhood and innocence. Unreal.

I'm as liberal as they come, but it's just odd that people shrug this stuff off like it's not a big deal. Take a look around the internet and you'll find it is a big deal. And then take a walk through a mall or wait until you have daughters and they turn 15. Then tell me you don't think it's a big deal if they're taking nude pictures in the bedroom you provide for them. Hey as long as you don't find out what they're doing, you'll be fine with it, right?

There's still a small voice inside that says I should be shocked that this happened... but very little on the Internet shocks me anymore. Really, if we knew the "dirty little secrets" of the behind-the-scenes people of any of our favorite shows, we'd probably never watch them again... "I can't believe they'd be involved in something so wholesome and yet do THAT".

Yeah, it's wrong. And it's going to be forgotten. Sadly, too many other celebrities have done this before her.

Man, I'm too young to be this jaded.

To me, this is a matter of perspective. Celebs, some "role models", get caught with worse all the time. And I'm sure others still have the clout and/or $ to keep things out of the tabloids. There's much worse out there, although the connection with a franchise lead is the real problem. I mean, this isn't nearly as big a deal: http://www.backstage.com/bso/news_reviews/other_news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003638779 But the articles would be written here had it been Kim's voice rather than Bonnie's.

Parrothead: I guess I should have used my language carefully and not say "everyone does it" but rather that the majority of today's kids are more open with sexuality and experimenting (taking nude photos, etc.). How do I know this? I work with kids also, and I'm still young myself in college. I have a better understanding with today's kids around or that I grew up with in high school (I'm only 19) so you'd be surprised. Of course, I will be cautious in saying "kids". I do not mean 5-8 year olds, but people of similar age group as Vanessa Hudgens. It may be risque and pose problems for people who are offended by this and/or family oriented audiences, but the fact is, her personal photos were leaked and because it leaked without her consent, she shouldn't necessarily be punished so harshly for doing what the average flirty teenage girl would do to entise another boy. If it does not agree with some people who see these pictures or hear about, they should really mind their own business. Sure, the media and internet sites are going crazy on the issue, but they do that to all celebrities (which is somewhat expected towards celebrities). So you are right when you say that not everyone does the things Vanessa did.... but a lot of them do.

VML: I use the word retarded without the connotation that I am referring to handicap people or of that nature. I use the its following definition:

Function: adjective

: slow or limited in intellectual or emotional development : characterized by mental retardation

That, or the slang term for something really really stupid.

Other than that, words are words. I apologize for possibly offending anyone.

...but big deal.

Does she have the right to do things like that?  Sure, whatever.

But Disney also has the right to fire her.  I think most of their teen stars have clauses in their contracts that they won't do things like this, take roles that are too "adult", etc.  It gives disney some power and an incentive for them to keep their act together.

I'll bet once the HSM sequels are done she'll never work for disney again.

You must have known some much more outgoing girls than I did in HS, or even college for that matter.

This is actually a huge publicity bonanza for Disney. Cute, relatively innocent nude pics of a teenaged star is going to hype the next movie incredibly. Besides the additional teenaged boys who will now watch, they just added a whole new market segment: dirty old men.

THATS the problem .... the average "flirty" teenage girl should be STOPPED.

"If it does not agree with some people who see these pictures or hear about, they should really mind their own business."

EXCEPT for those underage. Hate to brake this to you but people under age 18 have limited rights. I am not a comunist ... but there has to be some kind of social and moral standard ... and it has to be enforced consistantly by ALL parents. Only in a perfect world .... I know .... but if the parents aren't doing it ... then I have no problem with it being done from the board room.

"Sure, the media and internet sites are going crazy on the issue, but they do that to all celebrities"

Thats TOO BAD ... I truly wish the media could expose all 13-17 year olds displaying this type of behavior. Maybe then it will stop and their parents can answer for why they don't seem to care.

That is true and you have a good point and I bet parents these days with teens can do something to prevent that, but the Vanessa Hudgens situation is a personal issue and at most a business/publicity issue. It's a shame that celebrities these days have to deal with so much media attention that may at times lead to negative effects, but that's how the business goes. It's all about popularity and less about art.

"I truly wish the media could expose all 13-17 year olds displaying this type of behavior. Maybe then it will stop and their parents can answer for why they don't seem to care."

Yeah, kids under 18 do have limited rights and I  don't think you are a communist (kinda random to mention that)... you as well as many people in the world feel the same way. Here's the thing though.... Vanessa Hudgens is a little over 18 years old, so legally speaking, she's not underage anymore. Even if those photos were taken before she turned 18, it was a simple act on her part that unfortunately back-fired later on. She probably learned her lesson and is moving on. And if not, oh well, she'll probably get fired from Disney. Problem solved.

The thing I have a problem with is that everyone is taking this so seriously. If kids find her as a role model, its the responsibility of the parents to teach their kids not to imitate or depend their lives on a celebrity or tv character. So before everyone freaks out about this issue, realize that it is merely a business issue. Disney wants to hold on to this franchise, hence they are supporting Vanessa Hudgens. This isn't some crazy moral issue that should be investigated. That's stupid.

And... High School Musical... I'm sorry to break it to you, is retarded.
