Sheesh, I hate to be grouchy but what the heck is going on around here.  By my count it has been a lean year around here at JHM.  Has there been a major story since Night Kingdom?  With the exception of ruffled feathers over D23 in mid-March it has been slim picking for some meat and potatoes articles around here.  Has our beloved Jim lost his mojo?

I think I speak for many of us when I saw we love the history and business articles the most.  I mean I always enjoy Floyd's historical accounts but there is so much happening in the world of Disney right now.  An occasional book, DVD and speaking engagement promo is okay I guess but it seems like that is what the site has dissolved into.  Whatever happened to the Mousewatch Monday business report?

In no particular order here are things that I would love to see in the near future.  Unfortunately I don't have the resources and contacts to answer these questions.  Maybe Jim doesn't anymore either?!

* What effect is the economy having on business?  There has to be a ton of articles in that question.  I know that Easter week was extremely busy but I'm sure WDW lost a bundle on the "pay 4 get 7 offer."  They seem to have run out of steam on the return of the free dining offer for the fall.  Also, I am hearing that park restaurants are not full.  Is the birthday celebration really driving business to Orlando?

* What are the effects of the massive lay-off in the management ranks.  I'm sure financially that is just the tip of the iceberg.  There must be thousands of other budget cutbacks that we don't know about yet.  What effects will they have on the parks in the next 12-24 months?

*  How are the huge demands of President Obama affecting progress on Hall of Presidents.  I would think he doesn't have much time to devote to Disney to record anything for this attraction.  Will the opening be delayed or will the show go one with or without him?

*  What are the projections for UP?  What don't we know yet about the storyline for this movie?

*  What else is new on the Disney movie front?  How is Princess and the Frog progressing?  What other projects are in Disney's pipeline.  What is happening with the Lone Ranger project et. al.?

*  What is happening with Downtown Disney?  How is the economy affecting current retailers and how is it effecting the attraction of future business.  Will there ever by an ESPN Club?  Will they ever be able to attract guests to the Westside?

*  For that matter, what ever happened to the conversion of Wide World of Sports to the ESPN Center?

*  How has the fan backlash over D23 affected the future of that club?

*  What is new on the Disney Cruise front?  What effect will the new VP of that division have on future direction?  What new and exciting things will be offered on the new ships?

Inquiring minds want to know Jim.

Yup, I could use more fiber.  Anyway, since I posted my rant it has only been more of the same, a book review and a recap of a speaking engagement.  Point proven!
