I don't understand what this fetish Hollywood has these days with making "not a sequels". If you have enough confidence in the property being a box-office success that you're duplicating many elements of the original, call it a remake. If you're using element sfrom the original to create a whole new storyline, call it a sequel. But please spare me this nonsense that you're "re-imagining" the film in the hope that you can get it to appeal to both the fanboys and people who don't remember (or were too young to have seen) the original film.
