Ehhh... so Lucasfilm are making fun of a successful production company because they can't really do anything good?

What's the deal? :/

...like Derek said...Lucasfilm made the effects for Pirates 2.  They are allowed to have some fun. They make amazing stuff, like Pirates 2. lol.  They also worked on alil picture known as Star Wars.  Idk if anyone has heard of it.

P.S. I was also creeped out that aggie got so close.  I think this person has a time machine.

Since Disney showed this footage at the San Deigo Comic-Con a couple of weeks back, I'm really hoping it will end up on the DVD.  It's nice that Keira finally got to weild a lightsaber (or two)  even if it wasn't in her Star Wars film...

I don't think "Disney Studio execs would probably prefer that you didn't see" this footage as it is the same footage Disney themselves showed a few weeks ago at the San Diego Comic-Con. It was a especially interesting to see how they programmed Davy Jones beard. Although we were warned REPEATEDLY not to take video or photos of it.

ILM is known for gagreel footage.  I remember at Star Wars Celebration 2, they had cut together several walk cycles and character tests to the Bee Gee's song 'Staying Alive,' and had the big Ray Harryhaousen-like arena creature in 'Attack of the Clones' pulling John Travolta moves.

Just a quick note about the photo policy at Siggraph - We were asked not to take video of any of the presentations we saw (and we did not take any video) but stills of the screens were fine. The photos you see in this article and will see in future articles about what we saw at Siggraph are all above board photos.

Just FYI.

It's only appropriate that Keira get her moment with Lightsabers.  She was in Episode 1 for like, three minutes if that...  I wonder though, had George Lucas know that Keira was going to be this big of a star would he have cast her instead of Natalie Portman?  Just a thought...

"FYI: The above image comes from one of the many books that JHM was giving away as part of last month's "Guess the Opening Weekend Gross for 'Dead Man's Chest'" contest."

and also:

"The Kraken picture is from "Disney Pirates of the Caribbean The Visual Guide"."

...but in the original article on July 4, http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2006/07/04/3597.aspx
that book is not listed as one of the books being given away.

We got a copy of "The Visual Guide" after Jim's original article went up and after reviewing it decided that it would be a nice addition to the contest package.
