Are you like me? Did you over-indulge over Thanksgiving weekend? Have one too many pieces of pumpkin pie?

Well, if you're still dealing with a world-class case of indigestion ... Then you probably won't want to hear about a 15-foot-tall building that's made entirely out of sugar.

As you can see by the above recipe, perhaps my original description of the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House isn't entirely accurate. Though tons of sugary frosting IS used to secure those hundreds of gingerbread shingles to the wooden substucture.

This is the seventh year that the culinary staff of WDW's Grand Floridian Resort has built a giant gingerbread house in the lobby of this luxury hotel.

Some WDW visitors (myself included) literally spent hours in the lobby of the Grand Flo earlier this month, watching as this 1/3rd scale Victorian home slowly came together.

To many Orlando-area residents, the appearance of these over-sized gingerbread houses in the lobbies at the various hotels at WDW and Universal Florida's hotels are a sure sign that Christmas is finally on its way to Central Florida.

I was lucky enough to get these shots of the Grand Flo's gingerbread house as it was being constructed.

In the weeks ahead, I'll be traveling to both Anaheim & Orlando. Where I hope to get video as well as photographs of all the finished versions of all the gingerbread houses that will be on display at Disneyland & Disney World's resorts and theme parks ...

... Which I then hope to collect on a single DVD for all you artsy-craftsy types out there. So you too can see what you can accomplish if you have a lot of time, a lot of talent ... and lots & lots of gingerbread.

Jeff Lange is the staff photographer / archivist here at JHM. He recently launched his own series of unofficial Disney theme park DVDs. Which now includes "Jeff Lange's Holiday Treat." Which offers full coverage of last year's "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party" at WDW's Magic Kingdom. If you'd like to learn more about this or any other of the entertaining recordings that Mr. Lange has produced, we suggest that you follow this link.

  • People like to go out when they have time for such things but not all the people like it because of their hygienic issues. They like to spend their time in reading review of paperwritings.com to write their articles on such topics.
