Well, think again. As Labor Day looms, this Emmy-nominated series is gearing up for its biggest month ever. With “P & F” viewers being asked to vote online for their favorite songs from the show, the release of its first-ever soundtrack, a special two-parter episode ... And did I mention that “Phineas & Ferb” is once again nominated for an Emmy? (Oh, yeah. I did … Anyway ).

Let’s start with the online component. Starting on September 4th ,“P & F” fans will be asked to drop by DisneyChannel.com & DisneyXD.com to vote for their favorite song from the show. Which won’t be easy, given that this animated series has already featured over 100 original tunes.

Once the Top 10 songs have been selected, these numbers will then be presented as part of a special viewer-generated episode, “Phineas & Ferb’s Cliptastic Countdown.” Which – when this show airs sometime in October –will be hosted by Major Monogram (voiced by “P & F” co-creator Jeff “Swampy” Marsh) and Dr. Doofenshmirtz (voiced by “P + F” ‘s other co-creator, Dan Povenmire).

Mind you, if you need help deciding which is actually your favorite song from this animated series, you should probably pick up a copy of the official “Phineas & Ferb” soundtrack. Which goes on sale September 22nd and features 26 different numbers from this Emmy-nominated series.

And speaking again of the Emmys … On Sunday night, September 20th, “P & F” goes head-to-head with “SpongeBob SquarePants” to see who will take home the award in the Special Class – Short-Format Animated Programs category (With “The Monster of Phineas-N-Ferbenstein” competing against “SpongeBob” ‘s “Dear Vikings” episode).

And if that weren’t already enough … On Monday, September 21st, “Phineas & Ferb” will air an epic two-part episode inspired by “Back to the Future.” Entitled “Time Machine 2 Quantum Boogaloo,” this story starts off with the step-brothers journeying to the future to find a tool that hasn’t been invented yet.
Unfortunately, after they zoom ahead 20 years, Phineas & Ferb run into future Candace. Who – seeing the opportunity to finally bust her brothers –journeys back to the past and exposes P & H to their Mom just after they finish building that roller coaster that Phineas & Ferb built in the very first episode of this show.
Unfortunately, as she’s doing this, future Candace accidentally disrupts Agent P’s epic battle with Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Which causes Perry the Platypus to wind up in a full body cast for six months. Which is all the time Dr. Doofenshmirtz needs to claim dominion over the Tri-State area. So when Candace returns to the future, she finds that Danville has devolved into a dystopian society. Where its citizens are then forced to worship Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
So how does future Candace finally set things right? To get that answer, you’re going to have to watch “Time Machine 2 Quantum Boogaloo” on Monday, September 21st from 8 – 8:30 p.m. ET / PT on Disney XD.
So just because summer vacation is coming to a close doesn’t mean that “Phineas & Ferb” can’t serve up a September to remember.
Your thoughts?
"Phineas and Ferb" is surprisingly good for what it is. It's not all that great on the eyes, but it's fun and has heart, and that's more than one can say about a lot of TV toons. It's weird, though...that P and F Frankenstein episode wasn't all that good, and neither was that Spongebob Vikings episode. Yet those get submitted for Emmys? Very poor choices in my view.
Phineas & Ferb is a pretty good show - one of the few current animated shows that is actually funny unlike most of the humorless dreck out there.
I'm glad the show is getting some recognition!
