Monday Mouse Watch: I'm dreaming of a red + white + blue + green + yellow Christmas

My apologies if this week's Monday Mouse Watch is somewhat on the short side. But I just got back from Southern California. And since I'm flying down to Florida tomorrow morning to start covering the grand opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I really don't have time to write a full-blown JHM column today.

Not to worry, though. I've got these two video interviews that I did back on Thursday night right after the world premiere of Disney's World of Color. First up is my conversation with Kevin Eld, Vice President of Creative Entertainment at Walt Disney Imagineering. Where Kevin talks about the 5 year process involved with the creation of this new nighttime extravaganza.

After that is my chat with Quinn Shurian, the 2010 Disneyland Resort Ambassador. Where Quinn talks about how it's definitely worth it to try & check out World of Color from different angles around around Paradise Bay Lagoon. How you then get to see how technologically sophisticated this new DCA show is.

Beyond that ... Given how impressive Disney's World of Color is, Disneyana fans are already wondering when they might see a seasonal variation of this new DCA show. Well, according to something I saw on Saturday, there's already a tentative plan in place for a holiday version of WOC to be up & running at DCA by early November of 2012.

Mind you, this list of future plans for the Disney theme parks did feature some projects that have already canceled / postponed (EX: That Seven Dwarfs-themed mine train coaster that was in development for WDW's Magic Kingdom) as well as a few things that Mouse House executives have yet to talk about in public (EX: The Company's plan to add a clone of "The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure" to the Disneyland Paris Resort's assortment of attractions). So that 2012 launch of the holiday version of Disney's World of Color isn't necessarily written in stone.

Speaking of "Ariel's Undersea Adventure," come back next week and I'll talk more about Disney's plans for this new "Little Mermaid" -theme attraction. But -- for now -- I gotta go ready for Tuesday's trip.
