The doctor is in -- "Doc McStuffins," TV's newest hit for kids age 2-7,
has been ordered for a second season on both Disney Junior, the daily
programming block that posted Disney Channel's best fiscal second
quarter ratings ever in the daypart, and the burgeoning 24 hour Disney
Junior channel. The channel is available to Comcast, Time Warner Cable,
Cablevision, Bright House Networks and Verizon subscribers and soon, via
additional affiliates nationwide. The announcement was made today by
Nancy Kanter, Senior Vice President, Original Programming and General
Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide.
Watch Doc McStuffins weekday mornings at 10 am/9c on Disney Junior on Disney Channel.
How exactly do they measure if a children's show is successful?
For most parents, there are certain hours that they block out to get things done so they plop the kids down in front of the Disney Channel. So it's more about the time slot and repetition that indicates what child viewers are watching rather than the quality of the show.
My daughter and I prefer Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, we passively enjoy Doc McStuffin and dislike Octonaughts. But whether its Octonaughts, Clubhouse or Doc then my daughter will watch either way because that's what's on.
