A detailed look at “Mike and Sulley to the Rescue”

Last week, we let you take a look at a lot of the prep work that WDI has already done on this “Monsters, Inc.” -themed dark ride. So today … Why don’t we talk more about the attraction itself?

Disney’s plans for “Mike and Sulley to the Rescue” were officially unveiled as part of a press conference that was held in DCA’s “Muppetvision 3D” theater on Thursday, May 5th. As walk-around versions of the “Monsters, Inc.” characters menaced the members of the media who’d turned out for this early morning briefing …

Basically, the attraction starts up at the moment in the movie where Boo has been discovered in Monstropolis. As guests move through the queue in “Mike and Sulley to the Rescue” ‘s pre-show area, overhead monitors bring them up to speed on this “Kid Tastrophe.”

Once we take our seats in that retooled “Superstar Limo” ride vehicle, we’re dropped right into the middle of this 2001 Pixar Animation Studios release. Our first stop in Harryhausen’s (You know. That hoity-toity sushi restaurant that Mike took Celia to on their big date?), where Mike’s girl friend is somewhat shaken by her close encounter with Boo.

Out on the street, residents of Monstropolis tell members of the media how they too had memorable encounters with the human child.

For these two have come up with a bold plan to “Rescue” Boo. To get this cute little girl back safely to the human world.

Want to hear how Mike & Sulley actually do this? Come back on Friday. When I’ll share the rest of the concept art that I’ve got for “Monsters, Inc. : Mike & Sulley to the Rescue.”
