Hi there, Nancy Stadler here.
Normally Jeff Lange is the one who handles the photo essays here at JimHillMedia. But given that Mr. Lange is still recovering from his close encounter with a certain Disney celebrity (check back tomorrow and Jeff will fill you in on all the “race-y” details) I guess it’s my turn to provide the pretty pictures.
And given the site got a coupl’a nice comments last week about the images of Silverado Vineyards used to illustrate the first installment of Jim’s new “Star Tours” series , I figured I’d share some more of those shots.

I really can’t tell you how much I enjoyed visiting the Disney family winery. The Stags Leap District area is just beautiful, as you can see from this view from Silverado’s terrace area.

And the vineyard itself is a wonder. Both beautiful and functional, the facility features lots of great little touches that Diane Disney Miller added to the property. Like these gorgeous stained glass windows …

… which you’ll find all throughout the winery. Take, for example, the stained glass windows in the photo below, which are actually located in one of the barrel storage areas.

Make no mistake, Silverado isn’t just some sort of hobby for Ron & Diane Disney Miller. This is a really-for-real working winery, with storage space on the premises for 6500 barrels.

Barrels that are made of only the finest French and American oak, by the way. Making use of juicing and fermenting techniques that vinters have been using for centuries as well as state-of-the-art technology like these wine holding tanks …

… has made Silverado Vineyards winery a force to be reckoned with in Napa Valley. With the facilities’ wines, as well as its new line of olive oils, frequently taking medals at various competitions around the country.
Speaking of Silverado’s wines, you can sample them daily (10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., excluding major holidays) in the vineyard’s tastefully-decorated tasting room.

Or — if you don’t think that you’ll be getting out to the Stags Leap District anytime soon but still want to sample some of what Ron & Diane have helped to create — you can always join Silverado’s wine club. That will then entitle you to order various vintages through the mail.
And remember: Membership does have its privileges. To explain: members of Silverado’s wine club can also take part in special events at the winery. They can even put in requests to hold private parties at this beautiful facility. Imagine hosting an anniversary dinner or your next corporate function in this gorgeous hall.

All this, plus those AMAZING chocolates filled with their prize winning Merlot, make a drive out to Yountville to check out Silverado Vineyards winery something you really have to do the next time you’re in Northern California.
