“All My Children”‘s Susan Lucci Talks About the Show’s Cancellation with NBC’s Jay Leno

BURBANK, Calif. – April 29, 2011 – “All My Children” star and Emmy Award winner Susan Lucci took a seat on the couch of NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Friday, April 29 (11:35 p.m.-12:35 a.m. ET). This was the soap icon’s first television interview since the news broke last month that the popular daytime drama was canceled.

Lucci has reigned over daytime television for over four decades. Her portrayal of Erica Kane has earned her numerous Emmy Award nominations and an Outstanding Daytime Actress win, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and induction into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

On April 14, ABC announced that the network was canceling two of its longest-running programs in daytime soap operas “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.”
