Well, it turns out that Friday the 13th was pretty luck for
two JHM readers. Because Beth Strutz and Todd Burnside (who was playing for his
8 year-old son) just won copies of Ridley Pearson's new "Kingdom
Keepers" book, "Shell Game."

Congratulations to Beth & Todd. I'll be putting your
"Kingdom Keepers" books in the mail bright & early on Monday. So
please keep an eye out for those hardcovers. They should be popping up in your
mailbox sometime towards the end of next week.
And as for the dozens of other folks who sent in answers to
my Gorda Cay trivia questions … Please don't be blue because you didn't win
that particular JHM contest. Because there's a new one getting started right
now.
And seeing as the Muppets have in the news a lot over the past
day or so (what with Kermit & Co. being named as the Official Family
Ambassadors for New York City) …
Gonzo, Miss Piggy, NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta, Kermit and Pepe look on as
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg revealed that the Muppets have been
name as New York City's Family Ambassadors. Photo by Julienne Schaer
… and Nicholas Stoller revealing to Collider that he and
James Bobin are already 13 pages into writing their follow-up to "The
Muppets" (which won't be a sequel per se, but — rather — a comedy caper
that will then introduce some brand-new Muppet characters along with all of our
old favorites) …
… I thought that it might be fun to give away two — count
'em, two — copies of a long out-of-print Muppets-related tome, "Jim Henson's Designs and Doodles: A Muppet Sketchbook." Originally published
back in February of 2001 by Harry N. Abrams, this 128-page hardcover takes a
detailed look at the earlier part of Henson's career, back when he was just
getting started working in television. And as you page through this handsomely
illustrated sketchbook, you can actually look on as Jim settles on the distinctive
look for some of his more iconic Muppet characters.
And seeing as "Jim Henson's Designs and Doodles: A
Muppet Sketchbook" looks back on the beginnings of Henson's illustrious career
… Well, that's what this week's trivia questions will be about. To be
specific:
Copyright 2001 Harry N. Abrams. All rights reserved
1) What was the name of the TV series that Jim produced for
WRC-TV?
2) Name the coffee company that Henson produced commercials for
2) Which Muppet character was a regular on "The Jimmy Dean Show?"
Please send your answers along to jim@jimhillmedia.com. More importantly,
please be aware that this contest closes at 12 midnight ET on Thursday, April
19th. The two winners (who will be randomly selected from the correct entries
that come in over the next six days) will be announced as part of next Friday's
Why For column.
So — again — congratulations to Beth & Todd. And good
luck to those of you who will be entering this week's trivia contest. Have a
great weekend, okay?
