Greetings from San Diego. Where — in just a few short minutes — Preview Night at Comic-Con 2013 officially gets underway.

Mind you, when Alice and I dropped by the convention center earlier this afternoon to pick up our credentials, the lines weren't all that bad.But trust me, folks. That'll change real soon.

And it was kind of cool to be able to walk about the Gaslamp Quarter and see some of the displays that various studios had set up around the city without it being body-to-body out there.

Of course, some folks were still rushing around, trying to get ready for Preview Night.

But one off-site venue that will definitely be ready is the Disney INFINITY Preview Center. Which is located just a few blocks away from the San Diego Convention Center at 343 4th Avenue.

Disney Interactive was nice enough to let us drop by early and check out what thousands of Comic-Con attendees will experience over the next three days.

Here, gaming enthusiasts will be able to get hands-on with Disney INFINITY. Which — when you're in Toy Box mode — will allow you to do over-the-top things like have Mrs. Incredible fly a Dumbo that's armed with surface-to-air missiles through the underwater world of Finding Nemo.

Or — if you wanted to get truly bizarre / really meta — you can always have Davy Jones from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films drive the Electric Mayhem's bus from "The Muppet Movie."

Me personally, I just enjoyed getting the opportunity to get a closer look at those collectible figures that play such a huge part in the Disney INFINITY gaming experience. These things are so beautifully sculpted and feature such clever takes on some classic Disney characters, that — even though I'm one of those people who could never get the hang of Pong — I'm still thinking of getting in on the ground floor with Disney INFINITY. If only so that I can then try and put together a full set of these truly cool-looking collectible figures.

Now if you're thinking about dropping by 343 4th Avenue in San Diego over the next three days, please be aware that the Disney INFINITY preview center is only open to D23 members tomorrow night. On Friday & Saturday night, this venue will be open to all members of the general public & Comic-Con attendees from 6 – 10 p.m.

Now if you'll excuse me, it's time to get back to the convention center. Where Preview Night for the 2013 edition of Comic-Con International is just about to get underway!
