Picking up where we left off on Friday …
Following our host, we move through Club 33’s gallery space and lounge area. I pause for the briefest moment in front of the restaurant’s souvenir case. Wondering whether I should spring for any Club 33 merchandise to commemorate my visit.

But my bride has no time for souvenirs. “Hurry up, Jeffrey,” Flo says. “I’m hungry!” So I follow along behind her, past a luncheon buffet that’s piled high with shrimp & lobster tail …

These days, lunch at Club 33 is kind of a do-it-yourself affair. By that I mean: For a flat $55-per-person fee, you can make as many trips to the buffet as you’d like. Though there is an additional fee for beverages.

Now I know that that sounds pricey. And — to be honest — it is an awful lot to pay for lunch. Until you hear how much it costs to buy dinner at Club 33. And then you realize that you’re really getting off easy.
Plus — as part of that $55-per-person fee — you’re getting that amazing Club 33 service. Where your water glass never seems to get empty. Where your waiter seems to cater to your every whim.
Plus all the antiques & the artwork. Take — for example — this harpischord …

The only thing that would have made that view better was a glimpse of the Mark Twain. Oh, wait a minute. Here it is!

In painting form, of course. But it’s still a beautiful boat, don’t you think?
Speaking of paintings, be sure to come back to JHM later this week when I’ll present the final installment of my Club 33 series. Which will point out some of the more memorable photos, sketches and antiques to be found in this restaurant.
