Disney Theatrical Productions celebrates its 15th year on Broadway with a “$15 for 15” offer

Here’s a quick question for all you trivia buffs out there:
What’s the appropriate gift for a 15th anniversary?

And the answer is … If you’re a traditionalist, it’s
crystal. On the other hand, if you’re more of a modern type, elegant glassware
or a watch is considered an appropriate anniversary  gift.

Well – if this is really the case – then Disney Theatrical Productions
clearly didn’t get the memo. For – in celebration of DT’s 15th year on
Broadway – they’re the ones who’ll soon be handing out the presents.

“What sort of presents?,” you ask. Hefty discounts to their
three NYC productions. Starting this Sunday at 12 noon ET, DTP will be
launching its “$15 for 15” promotion. Which means that – if you purchase one
full-priced seat for “The Little Mermaid,” “Mary Poppins” or “The Lion King” –
you can then get a companion ticket for just $15.

As you might expect, there are some conditions &
restrictions involved here. For
starters, this “$15 for 15” sale only runs for 15 days (i.e. Sunday, April 5th
through Sunday, April 19th at 11:59 p.m. ET). And the tickets that
are being offered here are only for select performances of “Mermaid,” “Poppins”
and “Lion King” between April 21st and May 31st, 2009. More importantly, this special limited time offer
pertains only to certain select seating locations at the Lunt-Fontanne, New
Amsterdam and Minskoff Theatres.

As to the way this promotion actually works:  When buyers purchase a full-priced ticket,
they will then be then allowed to purchase a second seat of equal value for just
$15. Mind you, this discount is only valid for a single performance of a single
show. Which means that this $15 companion ticket must be for the very same
performance as the full-priced ticket.

As for the fine print: This “$15 for 15” offer is not valid
for Wednesday matinees. It’s also not valid for Saturday matinee, Saturday
evening or Sunday matinee performances.
And this promotion is also not applicable for seats in the rear
mezzanine at “The Little Mermaid” and “The Lion King.”

There’s also been a limit placed on the number of “$15 for
15” seats that any individual can purchase over a one week period. Which is 14
tickets per person per 7 day period. And – as you might expect, given the price
point involved with this DTP promotion – all sales are final and no exchanges or
refunds.

But beyond that … This is a pretty sweet deal when it comes
to scoring seats to Disney’s NYC productions. And when you consider that “Mary
Poppins” is coming up on a real milestone (i.e. The Broadway version of this
show will present its 1000th performance at the New Amsterdam next
Thursday night) and Tony Award winner Faith Prince will be strapping on Ursula’s
tentacles next Tuesday night and begin playing the Sea Witch in “The Little
Mermaid” … If you’re a musical theater fan, there’s no better time to be buying
tickets to these Disney Theatrical Productions.
