Disneyland Resort Paris gets tooned up for Mickey’s Magical Party

I should have known something was up as soon as I entered the lobby of Disney’s Hotel New York. Which was filled – floor to ceiling – with brightly colored Mickey Mouse mylar balloons.

And as I made my way through Disney Village, there were decorations and posters everywhere …

… trumpeting Mickey’s Magical Party. Which is the Disneyland Resort Paris’ next year-long celebration. Which officially gets underway this coming Saturday, April 4th.

So how exactly does Mickey’s Magical Party differ from the Disneyland Resort Paris’ 15th anniversary celebration? Well, for starters, do you remember those dark blue banners that lined Main Street U.S.A. ?

Well, they’ve now been replaced with light blue banners emblazoned with the Mickey’s Magical Party logo.

And if you’ll look closely at Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant (AKA Sleeping Beauty Castle), you’ll see that the old 15th anniversary logo has now been replaced with a dimensional version of the Mickey’s Magical Party logo.

Mind you, as I toured Disneyland Park this past Saturday, I noticed that they were still putting the finishing touches on this year-long celebration (Which explained the signs that were scattered throughout this Park, apologizing for the various areas that were still of-limits due to wet paint and/or not-quite-finished-construction).

But – that said – the press was swarming all over the place this past weekend, getting all of the images & info that they needed for those stories that they’d be running this next week on Mickey’s Magical Party. It was actually kind of funny to watch that seemingly endless stream of TV reporters go through the gazebo in Town Square

… so that each network, television station or vlog would then have that crucial piece of footage which showed their lead reporter interviewing the Big Cheese himself, Mickey Mouse.

As I walked around the rest of the Park, I found that work is basically been completed on the “It’s Dance Time … In Discoveryland” stage show area …

… where Guests will soon be able to dance along with DJ Stitch by moving the right foot to the appropriately colored wedge when they’re instructed to.

The promotional literature promises “EnorMouse Fun for Everyone!” And based on that ginormous Mickey Mouse-shaped scrim which had been set up in front of the Castle this past Saturday, they may just be right.
