Fire in the sky

Memorial Day is a holiday that honors the brave men & women in uniform who died while serving their country. In small towns all over America, today’s observances will typically include parades & speeches. Followed by picnics & concerts on the green and the almost inevitable fireworks at night.

Well, since a lot of us no longer live in small towns, we may miss out on experiencing much of what makes Memorial Day so special. Which is why … Well, if you can’t actually get out to a fireworks display tonight, then JHM will bring a fireworks display to you now.

… which really raises the bar as far as Disney fireworks displays are concerned. According to Steve Davison, the creative director for parades & spectaculars at the Anaheim theme park, “This is probably the most complicated, outrageous show we’ve done for nighttime.”

That’s putting it mildly. In “Remember … Dreams Come True,” Steve not only uses the sky as his stage but Sleeping Beauty Castle as well.

Here you see the hitchhiking ghosts from “The Haunted Mansion” as they make their appearance in the show …

It’s not just the fireworks and the projections that make “Remember … Dreams Come True” so memorable. The show also features laser light displays …

… as well as an appearance by Tinker Bell. Filled with a stunning amount of shells as well as clever use of audio from classic Disneyland theme park attractions, “Remember …” is one fireworks display that clearly lives up to its name. This is one nighttime extravaganza that you won’t soon forget.

Kudos to Mr. Davison and his pyrotechnic team for putting a truly memorable cap on any night spent in Anaheim during Disneyland’s 50th anniversary celebration.
