Picking up where we left off on Tuesday: After a brief stop outside Mr. Tumnus’ house …

It was time to visit the prop & costume gallery portion of Disney-MGM‘s “Journey into Narnia: Creating the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” walk-through exhibit. Which seemed to mostly focus on the White Witch. For here on display was Jadis’ sleigh …

Jadis’ evil minions were also represented. Here you see a clay sculpt of a minotaur, which was used in preparation for “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” ‘s big CG-laden battle scenes.

You’ll also find some of the White Witch’s frozen victims on display here. Below is a photo of statues of a dwarf, faun & satyr that were used in the making of this movie. This trio is just a sampling of the characters that were supposedly turned to ice by the false queen of Narnia.

Ah, but it’s not only villains and villainy in MGM’s “Journey into Narnia” exhibit. The heroes of the film do have some representation on Soundstage Four. Here you see the 1940s period costume that Georgie Henley wore while playing the role of Lucy Pevensie.

But — beyond this — the “Narnia” walk-through exhibit seems to be a bit on the skimpy side. Oh, sure. As you exit Soundstage Four, faux snow tumbles down out of the Central Florida sky. As if Jadis were making one final stab at claiming a few more victims. But given that it will only take two or three minutes tops to ogle all of the “Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” props & costumes on display, it’s hard not to feel that Disney-MGM’s “Journey into Narnia” exhibit is a little bit of a cheat.
Mind you, if you’re a Narnia fan, there’s also no need to rush on down to Soundstage Four out of fear of missing out in this “Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” exhibit. Based on what I’ve been hearing from folks in MGM management, “Journey into Narnia” will be staying right where it is through Halloween of this year.
After that, the display on Soundstage Four is expected to be changed out in favor of a new walk-through exhibit. One that will help promote Walt Disney Pictures’ big Holiday 2006 release, “The Santa Clause 3.”
Anyway, that’s your up-close look at Disney-MGM’s “Journey into Narnia: Creating the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” walk-through exhibit.
