JHM NIGHT AT THE MOVIES!

Mark the Calendar for Friday, August 27, 2004. The Place? How about Oakland’s Paramount Theater! This classic art-deco movie palace is just right for our first “JHM Night At The Movies”, with a great film to start it off – Walt Disney’s “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea”.

In the traditions of the “Meet & Greet” events at such places as Disneyland, here’s a fine chance for you to meet other folks from the JHM Online Community and enjoy an evening of great entertainment at the same time. This is what we hope will be the first of many regional JHM events for you to enjoy.

So, here are the details:

The Cost? A mere $6.00 per person, the cost of your admission ticket to the Paramount!

No extra fees or handling charges. Buy your own ticket at the Theater Box Office that night in Oakland.

Where? Oakland’s Paramount Theater. Located at 2025 Broadway between 20th and 21st Streets in downtown Oakland, California.

The easiest way to get there may be by taking a BART train to Oakland’s 19th Street Station and exiting to Broadway and walking the short distance east to the theater. You can’t miss the classic marquee! Ample free parking is also available right next to the theater. Check this link for all of the options!

When? Friday, August 27, 2004. 7:00 P.M. The theater doors open at 7:00 and we’ll have ample time to explore the theater, listen to a pre-show concert on the Mighty Wurlitzer and enjoy a favorite beverage (or even a smart cocktail or two) before the evening’s festivities commence at 8:00. And don’t forget that audience favorite, “Dec-O-Win” where valuable prizes await lucky audience members!

Your Host? JHM’s Roger Colton. Roger will be in front of the theater at 6:30 P.M.

So how do we sign up? Simply got to the JHM Message Boards, and post a reply in the JHM “Night At The Movies” Oakland topic and you’re all set! Couldn’t be easier and you’re all set!

We do ask that you reserve a place in advance. That way we know how many seats to save that night at the theater.

After the film, depending on how many people are interested, we may head off in search of a late night snack in downtown Oakland. The theater does offer a limited concession service of assorted candies (all classic theater favorites) and small bags of gourmet popcorn.

All in all, it promises to be a fine evening, and we hope that as many of you as are interested will be able to join us in Oakland at the Paramount.

If you have suggestions for locations and events for other JHM “Night at the Movies” events, please drop us a note! We’re always interested in hearing from you!
