“Shrek the Musical” springs forward with revised performance schedule, release of its original cast recording

Ah, spring. That time of year when little green things are
popping up out of the ground and the air is filled with a fresh, clean scent.

Unless – of course – you happen to be hanging around NYC’s
Broadway Theatre. In this part of town, the only green things that you’ll find
are ogres. And as for the scent in the air … The less said, the better.

Anywho … “Shrek the Musical” has been playing on
Broadway for three months plus now. And demand for tickets (to be specific, for
tickets to this show’s weekend performances) has become so strong that this DreamWorks
Theatricals
production recently adjusted its performance schedule. Starting last
week, “Shrek the Musical” swamped … er … swapped out its Wednesday evening
performance for a second show on Sundays.

So now through May 31st, the revised version
of “Shrek the Musical” ‘s performance schedule reads as follows. This Broadway show
will be presented on:

Mind you, the folks at DreamWorks Theatrical anticipate
that demand for seats to all performances of “Shrek the Musical” will really pick
up shortly. What with today’s release of the original cast recording of this new Broadway musical.

To help promote the release of this new Decca Broadway
recording, “Shrek” stars Brian d’Arcy James and Sutton Foster will be putting
in an appearance at the Columbus Circle Borders tomorrow evening. Where they’ll
be joined by several of their “Shrek the Musical” co-stars for a signing of this
new CD.

Among the cast members who are expected to be on hand
for this “Shrek the Musical” signing (which – FYI – is scheduled to get
underway at 6 p.m. Wednesday night) are Daniel Breaker (who plays Donkey in the
show), Christopher Sieber (Lord Farquaad) and John Tartaglia (Pinocchio).
