Donald Duck made his debut in 1934 and had starred in 128 Donald Duck cartoons by 1961. Join us for a screening of some of our favorites, including, Mr. Duck Steps Out, Donald’s Dilemma, Slide Donald Slide, and Donald’s Diary.

 

January 22 – From the Mouth of the Duck: Designing a Voice with Tony Anselmo

3:00pm, Theater

Tony Anselmo, Disney Legend, animator, and voice-over artist, will discuss his start at the Walt Disney Studio, his friendship with Clarence “Ducky” Nash, and how he carried on the legacy of voicing one of the most popular animated characters of all time. A quacking, squawking, and talking demonstration will be included in this program.

Saturday, January 15 – Voice-over Workshop

1:00pm—4:00pm, Learning Center Media Studio

Find the voices within you in this interactive workshop in our Media Studio. You will learn about the voice-over industry and have the chance to step up to the mic yourself, speak in different dialects, and breathe life into a character. Registration required.

Use the comic books in our galleries for inspiration as you create your very own Donald Duck comic book. 

Imaginations and creativity will soar with our new Disney Discoveries! The second Saturday of each month, join us for family fun and activities in the Learning Center.  The activities planned by our education staff will inspire the hidden artist in young visitors while learning about the life and work of Walt Disney.

Jim Hill

Jim Hill is an entertainment writer who has specialized in covering The Walt Disney Company for nearly 40 years now. Over that time, he has interviewed hundreds of animators, actors, and Imagineers -- many of whom have shared behind-the-scenes stories with Mr. Hill about how the Mouse House really works.
