Having already explored Knott's Merry Farm during the day, I
thought that I'd make another trip over to Buena Park
and see what the holiday version of America's
First Theme Park
looked like after dark.
Though — in hindsight — it might not have been my
brightest idea to schedule my return trip to Knott's for New Year's Eve.

In all the years that I've been going to this theme park, I have never seen
Knott's Berry Farm as busy as it was this past Tuesday night. But on the
upside, all of the people that I encountered over the course of New Year's Eve
seemed to be in extremely good spirits as they tried to decide which rides,
shows and attractions they should then get in line for.

Me? I decide that the very best way for my family & I to
deal with these enormous crowds was to just go with the flow. Submerge
ourselves in that great sea of people and then see where the night took us.

As we crossed through Calico Square, I stopped for a moment and chatted with a
pair of stiltwalkers who were in the park that night to help entertain the New
Year's Eve crowds.

Just across the way, the Calico Mine Train looked especially
festive thanks to some seasonal projections that Knott's park decor team had
set up.

Knott's newly expanded Boardwalk area was also bustling on
Tuesday. But thanks to all the music & the lights, it was still a fun part
of this theme park to explore.
But if I had to pick the prettiest corner of Knott's Merry Farm at night, hands
down that would have to be Camp Snoopy …

… which — thanks to Snoopy's Magical Nights of Lights and
its thousands of sparkling lights & festive holiday music — has never
looked better.

Mind you, I was kind of hoping that my family & I might able to catch at
least one live show that night like Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies …

… but when even that evening's performances of
"Lucy's Wish List" were standing room only, getting into the
Boardwalk Ballroom to see Dana Daniels do his world-famous comedy magic just
wasn't going to happen.
Even so, thanks to the festive holiday decor …

… as well as all the colorful lights …

… New Year's Eve at Knott's Berry Farm was still a very enjoyable experience.
One that I'll definitely try and repeat sometime in the years ahead.

Though next time around, I won't make the mistake of showing
up at 6 p.m. The next time I do New
Year's Eve at Knott's Berry Farm, I'm definitely going to plan ahead. More
importantly, arrive early enough to get a decent seat at some of this event's
live shows.
But what about the rest of you folks? Is there anyone else
out there who tripped the light fantastic at Knott's on December 31st?

If so, which of those one-night-only shows did you get to see?
