Wanna get a sneak peek at Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World? Then go conjure up a copy of the “Half-Blood Prince” DVD

Go ahead. Admit it. At some point in your life, especially during this time of year, you’ve snuck around the house. Looked under the bed. Dug around in the back of the closet. Hoping that you’d then get a sneak peek at what you’d be getting for Christmas.

Online, Harry Potter fans have pretty much been doing the same thing for the past 18 months. Sharing bits of gossip, regularly posting pictures of all the construction that’s going on Universal’s Islands of Adventure as they then try & get a handle on what The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will actually be like.

But – up until not – it’s just been about people making educated guesses about what it will be like to experience this 20-acre addition to IOA. Theme park enthusiasts taking that handful of images, those few moments of video that Universal Orlando has released so far and then deconstructing this info. As they then offer their theories on what wandering around inside of Hogsmeade Village will actually feel like. What thrills await Universal visitors as they climb abroad the “Flight of the Hippogriff” ride and/or enter the “Harry Potter and the Forbidden
Journey” attraction.

But all that changes with today’s release of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” on DVD. You see, if you purchase the Blu-ray and/or the 2-Disc Limited Special Edition
versions of this new Warner Home Entertainment release, you’ll then discover that – hidden among this film’s Special Features – is a 11-minute long video. Which offers the most detailed look – to date – at The Wizarding
World of Harry Potter.

“And what exactly does this ‘Half-Blood Prince’ featurette contain?,” you ask. Well, how about your first look at the Harry Potter-themed food that you’ll find for sale next year in
this part of the theme park? Muggle-friendly versions of Cauldron Cakes, treacle fudge and Butterbeer. Better yet, how about film footage that then shows what the ride experiences for “Flight of the Hippogriff,” “Dragon Challenge” and “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” will actually be like?

This featurette will also give you a sense of how closely the Universal Orlando Creative team worked with “Harry Potter” film producers David Heyman and David Barron. With their ultimate goal here being that – when you walk through the gates at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – it’ll be like you’re stepping straight into the movies.

Speaking of the “Harry Potter” movies … It’s not just the fans of the films who are dying to explore this 20-acre addition to Islands of Adventure. As part of this featurette will show you, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint can’t wait for the Spring of 2010 to arrive either. This trio of young actors is just as anxious as the general public is get their
chance to explore The Wizarding World of Harry Potter for themselves. So that Daniel, Emma and Rupert can then see what it’s like when this fantasy world is made real.
